i started seeing this error when i used CPAN to fetch stuff:

add string

export FTP_PASSIVE=1

to your profile (~/.profile)

• permanent solution for all users with editing system files (needs root):

the fix for linux is simple but not particularly easy to track down.

this is likely happening because you are behind a NAT or firewall, and you need to do ftp in passive mode.

find your perls libnet.cfg file:

% locate libnet.cfg
/usr/local/share/perl/5.6.1/Net/libnet.cfg

edit that file and change the ftp_int_passive setting to 1.

today apple released new itunes, quicktime and frontrow

isync it again

after installing 10.4.7 update with isync 2.3, sync won't work. i copied one phone conduit from isync plugins and modify it. now everything works.

yesterday we bought new phone for mara. this is sonyericsson z550i. phone is very good. but isync 2.3 missed phoneplugin for this phone. after searching within internet, i have two variants - buy plugin or write own (modify existing w550 package).
i change all strings w550 to z550 and replace image by my own. everything works perfect!

my new macbook has some changes over previous power pc books.

as example, sleep indicator lights on when notebook turns display off. but it is not sleep mode. in sleep mode indicator pulses.
when macbook reduces brightness of screen – numlock and capslock button lights up in a half.
